Designing covers is like putting icing on the cake. It really enhances the reading experience for me. How many times have you been reading a paperback book and then stopped to glance at the cover? Or, if you are reading a book on your e-reader, how many times have you stopped back at Amazon to look at the cover online? I do it all the time because it helps me relate to the characters and to the story. Thank goodness making these covers is fun. I really enjoy being creative and helping authors showcase their best work with a professional cover design.
Ramona, I thought I was the only one who did that - look at covers constantly! LOL If the cover doesn't strike me, I usually don't buy a book, and if the characters portrayed on the cover don't match the descriptions in the story, it really annoys me. I think you did an amazing job capturing the feel for this series. The characters look as I envisioned them when I wrote them, and each background scene has a significance in the stories. Great work! I can't wait to get these books in print, and actually hold them in my hands! I'll constantly be staring at the covers!
ReplyDeleteYour love for the books clearly shows in the covers you created. I've seen so many covers with no real connection to the stories and it's nice to see them when they are not only beautiful but connected.

Whenever possible I like to read the book before designing a cover. I find it frustrating when I read a book and the cover doesn't "fit" the story. Recently I purchased one of your books, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I'll get back to you when I do!
